đż âIn Godâs Hands, We Become.â đż
Lately, the Lord has brought screws to my attention. Today, He gave me a broken piece of one – the screw was rusted, broken, aged, and distorted. I heard in my spirit: He is removing the broken pieces; what was broken is being mended – what is out of place will become.
A screw is purposed to fasten materials together securely and precisely; however, it does more than âhold things in place.â Some screw qualities exhibit strength- lasting grip, adjustability and precision, load distribution, and versatility- screws are small but mighty in purpose.
When a screw breaks during construction, it can cause a range of painsâfrom minor inconveniences to severe structural problems. If a structural screw or anchor (supporting framing, beams, or foundational elements) breaks, it may disrupt load distribution, weaken structural integrity, and often require inspection and repair; this could involve reinforcement or complete reinstallation. Conversely, if a non-structural or finishing screwâused for drywall, trim, cabinetry, or fixturesâbreaks, it may leave part of the screw embedded, making removal more complicated; this situation may require the use of a screw extractor or the drilling of a new anchor hole. In such cases, the break is often more cosmetic or functional than a safety concern.
To repair a broken screw, you may need to drill it out to remove the broken piece. The process could involve rethreading the hole, filling and redrilling, or creating a new anchor point altogether. In critical areas, a structural engineer may need to assess and reinforce the affected section to ensure long-term stability and safety.
How many of us have broken screws âeither structurally or non-structurally? Our screws can be our commitments, beliefs, relationships, and habits that anchor into our foundations â our character, our values, and our sense of purpose. When one of those screws breaks, whether heartbreak, a failed plan, or even a personal setback or attack, it can feel destabilizing. When a screw breaksâa trial, a loss, a betrayalâit may shake our confidence. How can we recognize when we might need repair and take it to the Father for Him, as the Engineer, to rework and correct us?
Life throws some challenges our way; they can be complex, complicated, and confusing. Our unexpected cracks and breaks can leave us feeling shattered, hurt, and damaged, with a deep-seeded sense of brokenness, but healing and restoration are possible through Jesus. No one can ever say they have never faced or felt loss, failure, grief, or regret; we can all empathize with some form of pain. And like a broken screw in a foundation, sometimes it is buried deep – so deep in our hearts – weakening everything around it. Nevertheless, we have a good God who can empathize with our pain and sufferingâthe Christ, the Holy One, who bore our sins and felt pain; so, He is the best Engineer to repair and restore us anew. Scripture reminds us that God is the gentle Architect who removes what no longer serves us; He does not just look the other way or patch us- He restores us, redirects us, and revives us. In His hands, broken pieces become masterpieces.
So, my precious brother or sister, you are not too far gone; Father sees you, holds you, and is already workingâeven if you feel stuck in the hole or like a broken piece left behind, He is near; He is not finished with your story. Call Him in your pain, your brokenness, your damage, and let Him turn restoration into art, healing into testimony, and His Word into something that uplifts you and transforms your life.
Lord, take out the broken pieces; take the shattered pieces of my brother or sister and give them grace and hope. Come into whatever situation they face or pain they harbor and remove any broken, shattered pieces of screws- clean their wounds and repair the holes. Replace trouble, hurt, and old with new – give them a fresh start, a new direction, snap off any depression and hidden pains inside, and spiritually ground them. Gently extract what simply does not belong any longer – renew and restore. In Jesus name, amen.
Brokenness in Godâs hands becomes a fertile ground for renewal. Like a cracked vessel that lets light shine through, our wounds can become windows for His glory. And when we surrender to those shattered pieces â our disappointments, our griefs, our regrets, and our mistakes â He does not just glue them back together; He reshapes them into something more substantial, more resilient, more beautiful, and more aligned with His purpose. He has not finished authoring your story. Give it all to Him. You will become.
âIn the architecture of a meaningful life, our foundations are not poured by accident, but sculpted by Godâs hand, steady and intentional. The values we anchor in âlove, resilience, grace, and truth âare not secured just by our effort but by divine craftsmanship. Every âscrewâ placed, every commitment or belief, settles deeper when guided by a higher love, by a higher wisdom.â
He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.

But now, O Lord, You are our Father. We are the clay, and You are our pot maker. All of us are the work of Your hand.

Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost in Jesus name, Amen.
